Towards Multiple Use Water Services - Background paper This paper is intended to serve as an introduction to the forthcoming e-conference in terms of concepts, content, and structure. The ideas presented very briefly here are developed in greater detail in a number of publications that are listed in the final section.

Summary of Theme 1 : Identifying current experience Over the past 2 weeks, participants in Theme 1 of the English language e-conference have submitted contributions from Bolivia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Brasil, the UK and the Netherlands.
Summary of Theme 2: What are the lessons learned? During the second two weeks of the e-conference we received twelve further messages from participants debating the issues of “what are the lessons learned?
Summary of Theme 3 : Moving forward During the last two weeks of the e-conference, thirteen further messages were posted debating the issues of “moving forward with multiple uses”.
