ODI Water Policy Programme (WPP)

Established in 2001, WPP’s mission is to improve poverty reduction and social development through better water sector policy, programmes and projects. Our research and consulting work now encompasses a range of issues surrounding pro-poor sercive delivery, governance and conflict and enviromental management.

With the expansion of our programme we have established three broad research ‘clusters’ (see diagram) and are currently developing cross-cutting work on rights, shared waters, working in difficult environments and urban issues.

We work at all levels and with a range of donors, NGOs and international organisations. Our operational experience is broad, covering sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. In all these regions we have established a strong network of research associates and collaborating institutions.
